The funding program “Vocational Training without Borders” (BoG) is aimed at natural and legal persons with proven expertise in business-related consulting. The goal is to promote the cross-border mobility of apprentices and young professionals in German small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Consulting activities must be carried out within Germany to increase awareness and support for international internships.

The program “Vocational Training without Borders” promotes specific consulting and support services aimed at increasing cross-border mobility in vocational education. The funded measures focus on raising awareness, providing information, and offering organizational assistance for international internships, as well as building relevant cooperations. Permanent training programs in Germany are explicitly excluded from funding.

Type and Scope of Funding

The funding program offers grants in the form of co-financing for qualified consulting services. The funding is designed for a duration of up to 4 years and covers a large part of the eligible total expenses, with an own contribution expected from the applicant.

Conditions and Requirements

To avail of the funding, applicants must meet certain requirements, including the submission of a coherent action concept and proof of overall financing. It is also important that there is no cumulation with other, comparable funding programs.

Application Procedure

The application for the “Vocational Training without Borders” program must be submitted electronically to the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA). Specific content, such as an action concept and overall financing, must be provided. Applications are processed in the order of their receipt.

The funding is based on a specific guideline of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and is subject to the provisions of the Federal Budget Code (BHO). The Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) is the approving and executing authority.
