Water Management Projects
The State of Saxony-Anhalt supports municipal local authorities and other public legal entities in water management projects. Research and development projects in these areas are also eligible. Expenses for operation and maintenance, as well as commercial facilities, are generally excluded.
Type and Scope of Funding
The funding is provided as a non-repayable grant. The funding amount varies depending on the type of project and can be up to 80 percent of the eligible expenses. For certain measures, minimum expenses are required, and projects must be completed within three years.
Conditions and Requirements
The funding is subject to various conditions, including minimum expenses, detailed planning and application documents, and compliance with legal regulations. The economic viability and long-term financial capacity of the applicant are reviewed.
Application Procedure
The application procedure is two-stage and includes an informal registration and a formal application. The selection of projects is made via a prioritization and scoring system that considers the water management significance and the expected CO2 reduction.
Legal Basis
The funding program is based on the "Guidelines on the Granting of Subsidies for the Promotion of Water Management Projects (RZWas 2016)" of the State of Saxony-Anhalt. The legal basis is supplemented by state budget ordinances and administrative regulations, as well as relevant EU regulations for the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
