It offers important support for cultural initiatives related to the Polish-speaking population in Germany.

Who is funded

Funding is aimed at non-profit and public institutions based in Germany, as well as municipal bodies. The goal is to strengthen Polish art and culture in Germany and deepen German-Polish understanding.

What is funded

The program supports artistic and cultural projects from various disciplines that have a German-Polish or Polish connection. The funding aims at preserving Polish culture and language in Germany and strengthening understanding. Projects that have already started or been completed are not funded.

Type and Scope of Funding

The program offers project funding in the form of a grant, primarily as deficit financing. The maximum funding amount is generally 20.000 Euro, with co-financing from own funds or third-party funds being required, and full financing excluded.

Conditions and Requirements

Specific requirements apply for the application and implementation of projects, including the necessity of a timely and complete application before the project begins, and compliance with nationwide procurement regulations. After the project ends, statements of use and factual reports must be submitted.

Application Procedure

The application process involves the timely submission of complete documents to the BKM. Project selection is made with the advice of a jury, and the approval decision is communicated no later than three months after the application deadline.

The funding program is based on the guidelines for federal funding under the German-Polish Treaty of 1991 and the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation of 1999. It is subject to the provisions of the Federal Budget Code and the Administrative Procedure Act.
