The Brandenburg Business Loan offers established companies and freelancers in Brandenburg interest-subsidized loans from the Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg (ILB) in cooperation with the KfW Banking Group. It serves to finance investments, working capital, inventory, as well as company acquisitions and participations, to strengthen the economy in the state and secure jobs.
Who is funded?
The Brandenburg Business Loan is aimed at established companies, sole proprietors, freelancers, and natural persons with a company domicile in Brandenburg who have been active in the market for at least five years. The program aims to finance investments, working capital, inventory, as well as company acquisitions and participations, to secure jobs and strengthen the earning power of businesses.
What is funded?
The Brandenburg Business Loan offers financing for a variety of projects, including investments in tangible assets, working capital, inventory, as well as company acquisitions and participations. Up to 100% of the eligible costs can be financed, with VAT also being co-financed if there is no entitlement to input tax deduction.
Type and Scope of Funding
Funding is provided in the form of a loan with flexible terms and repayment options that are tailored to the nature of the project. The loan amount can be up to 25 million euros per project, with 100 percent of eligible costs being financed. Interest rates are capital market-oriented and determined based on creditworthiness, with ILB offering an additional interest rate reduction.
Conditions and Requirements
Specific conditions apply to the application and implementation of the Brandenburg Loan. These include the provision of standard bank collateral and compliance with EU state aid regulations, particularly the De minimis Regulation. Combination with other funding programs is possible under certain conditions.
Application Procedure
The application procedure for the Brandenburg Business Loan is exclusively handled through house banks. Applicants submit their documents to their house bank before the start of the project, which forwards the application to Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg (ILB) and assumes liability.

The Brandenburg Business Loan is based on a guideline updated in January 2022, which defines the funding objectives and cooperation with the KfW Banking Group’s funding programs.
