Bridging Aid for Businesses Affected by Road Construction
The "Bridging Aid for Businesses Affected by Road Construction" program by the State of Berlin offers grants to businesses suffering existential revenue losses due to extensive and long-lasting road construction measures. It aims to secure these businesses and jobs by providing financial support in the form of ex gratia payments to help them weather the construction period.
Who is Funded: Businesses in Berlin
This program targets businesses in Berlin that are experiencing existential revenue losses due to extensive and long-lasting road construction measures carried out by the State of Berlin. The goal is to enable these businesses to survive the construction period and preserve jobs by reducing personal burdens. Funding requires that the impairments could not be avoided or mitigated through the applicant's own efforts and that their own financial reserves have been exhausted.
What is Funded: Securing Existence During Revenue Losses
The program supports businesses threatened in their existence by long-term road construction measures by the State of Berlin, helping them to bridge significant revenue losses. The aid is designed to secure the continuity of operations and jobs. Pure building construction measures or projects by private utility and waste disposal companies are excluded from funding.
Type and Scope of Funding
Support is provided as a grant, the amount of which is determined individually on a case-by-case basis, based on the applicant's overall economic situation. The maximum support is limited to 35,000 euros for twelve months of construction time, with follow-up applications being possible.
Conditions and Requirements
To be eligible for funding, an existential revenue decline must be demonstrated, which could not be averted by the applicant's own measures. Private reserves and credit lines must be exhausted first. Furthermore, the road construction measures must have been carried out or coordinated directly by the State of Berlin.
Application Procedure
Applications must be submitted in the prescribed form to the Senate Department for Economy, Energy and Public Enterprises in Berlin. The decision on approval is made based on a recommendation from the Committee for Displaced Persons.
Legal Basis
The bridging aid is based on the guidelines of the State of Berlin from November 12, 2021, and is granted as voluntary payments in accordance with § 53 of the State Budget Ordinance. These guidelines define the conditions and framework for granting the aid.
