The program strengthens the competitiveness of companies and the job security of employees through targeted adaptive qualifications.

Who is funded

This funding program is aimed at legal entities under private and public law with a registered office and place of work in Germany that wish to further professionally qualify their own employees. The program aims to support workers and companies in Bavaria in adapting to technical, economic, social, climatic, and demographic changes and to reduce training deficits.

What is funded

The program promotes projects that include professional development for employed individuals, the introduction or expansion of in-company training systems, and overhead measures during restructuring processes. A wide range of thematic areas are supported, aiming at adaptation to current and future professional requirements.

Type and Extent of Funding

Funding is provided in the form of a non-repayable grant covering up to 40 percent of eligible costs. The actual funding amount may be proportionally reduced if the planned number of participants or participant hours is not met.

Conditions and Requirements

Specific requirements apply for participation in the funding program regarding project scope, number of participants, learning formats, and quality assurance. Furthermore, legal frameworks such as respect for the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, gender equality aspects, and state aid law must be observed. Transparency and publicity are mandatory during project implementation.

Application Procedure

Applications for the program must be submitted exclusively via the online portal ESF Bavaria 2021. Project selection is carried out by the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labour and Social Affairs based on project quality and established selection criteria.

This funding program is based on the funding guidelines 'Workplace Training' of the European Social Fund Plus Bavaria 2021–2027 and is embedded in a comprehensive network of European and Bavarian legal provisions that regulate its implementation and financing.
