ESF Plus Directive SMS (2021–2027) – C – Step by Step

This funding program is aimed at organizations implementing measures to improve the employability and social integration of individuals who are far removed from the labor market and have their primary residence in the Free State of Saxony. The focus is on long-term unemployed individuals who are extremely difficult to place and disadvantaged young people who could not previously be reached through other funding channels.

The program supports various measures to improve employability, particularly through personality stabilization, daily routine structuring, development of social skills, and reduction of knowledge deficits. Projects in the area of vocational orientation and training preparation for young people, as well as the creation of a Future Platform for Social Innovations, are also funded.

Funding is provided in the form of grants as project funding with variable funding rates depending on the funding area, which can amount to up to 100 percent of eligible expenses. Project durations are limited and are determined based on the target group and the labor market situation.

Various conditions must be met for the application and implementation of the measures, including coordination with local organizations, involvement of regional networks, and compliance with state aid regulations such as the GBER and De minimis regulations.

The application procedure requires submitting applications via the SAB funding portal, observing deadlines published on the approving authority's website. Approval follows the advance payment principle.

The funding program is based on the ESF Plus Directive SMS of the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs and Social Cohesion dated June 7, 2022 (amended 2023). It is also subject to EU framework directives and other European state aid regulations.
