Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles II
The state of Schleswig-Holstein supports the expansion of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. Companies and natural persons engaged in economic activity can receive grants for the establishment of new public and, in exceptional cases, non-public charging points. This program is an essential component of the state's strategy for electric mobility and the energy transition.
Who is Funded
The funding program supports the expansion of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Schleswig-Holstein. Eligible applicants include natural persons engaged in economic activity, as well as partnerships and legal entities under private law. The goal is to create a demand-driven and user-friendly charging network in the state to promote electric mobility and the energy transition.
What is Funded
The program supports the establishment of publicly accessible and, under certain conditions, also non-publicly accessible charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. Investment costs such as acquisition, establishment, and commissioning are funded, while operating costs and leasing are excluded. The program aims at the implementation of new charging infrastructures.
Type and Scope of Funding
Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant. The amount of the grant varies depending on the performance of the charging points and can be up to EUR 30,000 per charging point, covering a maximum of 50% of the eligible expenses. The funding is granted as a fixed-rate or co-financing.
Conditions and Requirements
Specific conditions apply to the application and implementation of the funding. These include the necessity of not starting measures before approval (exceptions possible), installation by qualified specialized companies, the use of 100% renewable electricity, and compliance with the Charging Station Ordinance. Furthermore, de minimis rules and procurement regulations must be observed.
Application Procedure
Applications for funding must be submitted via the WTSH online application portal before the start of the measure. For co-financing, a two-stage procedure is planned, starting with a project proposal. Approval is granted after evaluation of the criteria, and the grant is disbursed upon submission of the proof of use, usually retrospectively.
Legal Basis
The funding is based on the "Guideline for the Granting of Subsidies for the Promotion of Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles II". It integrates overarching budgetary law provisions as well as special regulations on aid and an infrastructure modernization program of the state of Schleswig-Holstein. Official texts are available in the Ministry's announcement and in the Official Journal of the EU.
