Funding Guideline for Art and Culture (FördRL K/K)

With this guideline, the Free State of Saxony supports both institutions in the field of art and culture and specific projects in the museum sector. Eligible applicants are primarily non-state institutions and associations that significantly contribute to Saxony's cultural diversity and adhere to certain ethical and professional standards.

The program supports two main areas: institutional funding for art and cultural institutions, and project funding in the museum sector. This includes both ongoing tasks and specific projects for collection development, accessibility, and presentation of museum assets.

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant and serves to partially finance projects. The amount of the grant varies depending on the type of funding, with varying amounts of own funds required. There is no de minimis threshold for project funding.

Specific legal, financial, and operational conditions apply to the application and receipt of funding. These include submission deadlines, own funds obligations, adherence to professional standards, and requirements for accessibility and handling of funded objects.

The application procedure is formal and requires the timely submission of all necessary documents to the competent granting authority. The decision on a grant is at the discretion of the authority and depends on the available budget funds.

The funding is based on the Funding Guideline for Art and Culture (FördRL K/K) of the Saxon State Ministry for Science and Art and is subject to the general budgetary provisions of the Free State of Saxony as well as specific cultural legal regulations.
