Funding for Investments in the Processing and Marketing of Agricultural Products

This program is aimed at companies and producer organizations in Schleswig-Holstein that wish to invest in the processing and marketing of agricultural products. The goal is to strengthen their competitiveness, promote innovation, and improve resource efficiency.

The program supports investments in the new construction and expansion of capacities, modernization of facilities, and general expenses related to the processing and marketing of agricultural products. Non-eligible items include, among others, replacement purchases, ongoing operating costs, or investments to meet applicable EU standards.

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant in the form of co-financing. The grant amounts to 25% for processing and marketing companies and 30% for recognized producer organizations, with a maximum of €750,000 per project. Projects must be completed within three years.

Applicants must meet a series of prerequisites, including the execution of the project in Schleswig-Holstein, compliance with the SME definition for processing and marketing companies, and proof of economic viability and normal sales opportunities. Specific requirements exist for producer organizations and regarding resource efficiency.

Applications must be submitted in writing to the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Areas, Europe and Consumer Protection. There are two annual application deadlines: March 15th and September 30th. Project selection is based on a points system.

The funding program is based on the "Guideline on the Granting of Subsidies for the Promotion of Investments in the Processing and Marketing of Agricultural Products in Schleswig-Holstein (V&V)" and is supported by the Joint Task "Improvement of Agricultural Structures and Coastal Protection" (GAK) and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
