Agricultural Investment Promotion Program (AFP)
The Agricultural Investment Promotion Program (AFP) Schleswig-Holstein supports agricultural businesses in modernization and sustainability enhancement. It promotes investments in environmentally and animal-friendly, as well as competitive agriculture through grants. The program distinguishes itself by focusing on the specific needs of Schleswig-Holstein's agricultural sector, considering European and national funding frameworks.
Who is funded
The Agricultural Investment Promotion Program (AFP) in Schleswig-Holstein is aimed at agricultural enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), that wish to invest in competitive, sustainable, environmentally and climate-friendly, and animal-welfare-oriented agriculture. The funding aims to improve production and working conditions, rationalize costs, increase added value, and promote consumer, animal, environmental, and climate protection. Eligible applicants are businesses in Schleswig-Holstein that generate a significant portion of their turnover from agricultural products.
What is funded
The Agricultural Investment Promotion Program (AFP) funds investments in durable assets within agricultural businesses, particularly concerning animal husbandry and associated environmental protection measures. This includes the construction and modernization of stables, the purchase of fixed installed internal farm machinery and equipment, and general expenses for planning and consulting services. However, land purchase, animals, external farm machinery, and replacement investments are not funded.
Type and Scope of Funding
The Agricultural Investment Promotion Program (AFP) provides non-repayable grants as partial financing. The amount of the grant depends on the specific measure and can range from 20 to 40 percent of the eligible total costs. The eligible investment volume is limited to a maximum of 1.5 million euros, with the maximum grant amount not exceeding 500,000 euros per project. The minimum investment volume is 20,000 euros.
Conditions and Requirements
To claim funding, various conditions must be met, including proof of professional qualifications and the economic viability of the business. The funded investments are subject to retention periods of 5 to 12 years, depending on the type of asset. Special requirements also apply to animal stocking and slurry storage capacities for environmental and climate protection. Accumulation with other funding programs is possible under certain conditions, but the same area may not be funded simultaneously.
