Funding for Research, Development, and Innovation
The state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern supports companies, universities, and research institutions in innovative projects. With the help of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), projects based on new scientific and technical findings and aiming for the development of internationally competitive products, processes, and services are funded. The program also contributes to the creation and safeguarding of sustainable jobs in the region.
Who is Funded?
This funding program is aimed at companies, universities, and non-profit research institutions with a registered office or operating facility in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The goal is to support innovative projects to increase regional value creation and create sustainable jobs. Funding is excluded for companies in difficulty.
What is Funded?
The program supports a wide range of innovative activities, from basic research to market introduction and implementation of process innovations. Also eligible for funding are feasibility studies, intellectual property right applications, as well as innovation consulting services and innovation-supporting services. Specific cost categories are considered, while preparatory work and routine changes are excluded.
Type and Scope of Funding
Funding is provided in the form of a non-repayable grant, the amount of which depends on the type of project, company size, and the specific funding object. There are fixed funding rates and maximum grant amounts per project, with a minimum grant of 15,000 Euros required.
Conditions and Requirements
Applicants must meet various conditions to receive funding. These include securing their own contribution, observing state aid regulations, and complying with specific requirements for project implementation, contract awarding, and transparency obligations.
Application Procedure
The application process is either single or two-stage, depending on the project, and requires the use of specific forms. Applications are evaluated by an examination committee based on innovation level, market potential, and other criteria. The approving authority is TBI Technologie-Beratungs-Institut GmbH.
Legal Basis
The funding is based on the Guideline for Granting Subsidies for the Promotion of Research, Development, and Innovation of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. This guideline is supplemented and legitimized by state and EU regulations, as well as the ERDF program of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
