Promoting Entrepreneurship

This funding program is aimed at natural and legal persons under private and public law in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It aims to strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit, particularly by supporting students, university graduates, scientists, and individuals interested in business succession.

The program supports projects dedicated to strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit and stimulating innovative start-ups. This includes activities ranging from information and qualification to support during the growth phase and business succession. Funding is provided as a grant for lump-sum personnel and material expenses.

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant. The amount of funding generally covers up to 90 percent of the eligible expenses. The funding is awarded within the framework of project funding and must comply with certain reporting obligations.

Applicants must have their headquarters in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and implement projects with structural policy significance for the state. The use of a free IT system for handling the grant and compliance with information and visibility regulations are mandatory. Extensive audit rights also apply.

Applications for funding must be submitted in writing and in the prescribed form to the State Office for Health and Social Affairs. The approval is granted by a written notice. The disbursement of funds is linked to the actual need and takes place after certain proof declarations.

This funding program is based on the "Guideline for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship" of the Ministry of Economics, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labor Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It integrates provisions of relevant EU regulations on the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) as well as state budgetary regulations.
