Loan

The ISB SME Loan, in cooperation with the KfW Banking Group, offers low-interest loans for SMEs, sole proprietorships, and freelancers in Rhineland-Palatinate. It specifically supports business start-ups, consolidations, acquisitions, as well as investments and working capital needs. The program is characterized by flexible financing options and an optional indemnity for intermediary banks.

Who is funded?

The ISB SME Loan is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), sole proprietorships, and freelancers who are based in Rhineland-Palatinate and wish to implement their projects there. The goal is to support business start-ups, consolidations, or acquisitions, as well as the creation and safeguarding of jobs.

What is funded?

The ISB SME Loan supports a variety of measures, including investments, the financing of working capital and inventories, as well as business acquisitions and participations. Generally, the net costs of eligible measures are considered, unless there is no entitlement to deduct input tax.

Type and Scope of Funding

The ISB SME Loan is provided as a low-interest loan and can cover up to 100% of the eligible costs. The amount of funding varies depending on the intended use, and there are options for an indemnity in favor of the intermediary bank.

Conditions and Requirements

Certain conditions must be met for applying for and receiving the ISB SME Loan, including compliance with German environmental and social standards, the applicant's creditworthiness, and state aid regulations. The loan must also be secured by customary bank collateral.

Application Process

The ISB SME Loan is not granted directly by the ISB to the borrower but exclusively via an intermediary credit institution. The application must be submitted to the house bank before the start of the project, observing certain deadlines and documentation requirements.

The ISB SME Loan program is based on a guideline from Investitions- und Strukturbank Rheinland-Pfalz (ISB) in cooperation with the KfW Banking Group. The legal basis can be found in the State Law on Investitions- und Strukturbank Rheinland-Pfalz (ISBLG) and is supplemented by European state aid rules.
