Business-Related Knowledge and Technology Transfer
The State of Brandenburg specifically supports research institutions and business promotion organizations carrying out projects for business-related knowledge and technology transfer through this program. The aim is to implement the regional innovation strategy, strengthen the innovation capacity of business and research, and generate positive effects for income and employment. Grants are provided for cluster- and transformation-relevant projects, including international collaborations.
Who is funded
The program specifically supports research institutions and business development organizations based in Brandenburg that carry out projects to implement Brandenburg's regional innovation strategy. The aim is to strengthen the innovation capacity of business and research and to generate positive effects on income and employment. Interregional and cross-border cooperations are also eligible for funding under certain conditions.
What is funded
The program supports statewide cluster-relevant or cross-cluster projects in various areas of knowledge and technology transfer. This includes, among others, cluster and transformation management, innovative projects in university transfer, and projects at research institutions that bundle technology transfer thematically, such as competence centers, and location-based transfer. The funding aims to improve innovation processes and sustainably strengthen Brandenburg's regional economy.
Type and Scope of Funding
The program offers financial support in the form of grants, awarded as project funding with full or partial financing. The amount of funding varies depending on the project type, with certain projects potentially covering up to 100 percent of eligible expenses. The duration of a funded project is limited to a maximum of 36 months, and there is a de minimis limit for eligible expenses.

Specific legal and operational conditions apply to the funding, which must be observed by applicants and beneficiaries. These include, among others, requirements for having a registered office in Brandenburg, strict separation of economic and non-economic activities, and consideration of overarching principles such as equality and sustainability. Furthermore, transparency and communication obligations regarding EU funding must be met to ensure the visibility of the support.
Application Procedure
The application process requires professional coordination with Wirtschaftsförderung Land Brandenburg GmbH (WFBB) and online submission to Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg (ILB).
