Quarter-Oriented Housing and Neighborhood Care – Staying Home in the Neighborhood

The program is aimed at owners of residential property in Hamburg who wish to establish and develop neighborhood structures and self-help within the quarter. The goal is to enable elderly people and those in need of care to live self-determined lives in their familiar environment and to promote social contacts.

The program supports measures for the establishment and development of neighborhood structures, particularly through the financing of a coordinator position. The projects aim to promote self-help, nursing care, and social participation within the quarter.

The program offers financial support in the form of a grant, primarily to cover personnel costs for a coordinator position. The maximum annual funding amount per project is fixed, and the funding period is two years.

Specific structural, organizational, and economic conditions apply to the funding. These include the design of the living space, the availability of barrier-free apartments and common rooms, and cooperation with care services.

The application must be submitted to the Authority for Health and Consumer Protection in Hamburg and must include a detailed project concept, an inventory, and a job description. Processing usually takes six months.

The funding program is based on a specific guideline from the Hamburg Authority for Health and Consumer Protection and is in accordance with national social security codes and the state budget regulations.
