Who is funded

This program targets application-oriented, non-university research institutions in Saxony-Anhalt that wish to invest in research infrastructures. The overarching goal is to strengthen the innovation potential of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the state that rely on external research and development capacities.

The program supports investments in the establishment and expansion of research infrastructures, including physical and intangible assets such as software or scientific databases. The goal is to strengthen applied research for SMEs.

Type and Extent of Funding

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant. The maximum funding amount is 5 million euros per project, with a funding rate of up to 90 percent of eligible expenses. The project duration is generally limited to 24 months, with a commitment period of five years.

Conditions and Requirements

Applicants must meet numerous requirements, including ensuring overall financing and alignment with the Regional Innovation Strategy. Special rules apply to the economic use of the infrastructure and compliance with EU state aid rules.

Application Procedure

The application must be submitted to Investitionsbank Sachsen-Anhalt before the project begins. Approval is at the discretion of the granting authority, within the framework of available budgetary funds. Disbursement of the grant is based on payment requests and verified documents.

The funding program is based on the "Guidelines for the Granting of Subsidies for the Promotion of the Expansion of Public and Non-University R&D and Innovation Infrastructure", issued by the Ministry of Economy, Tourism, Agriculture and Forestry of Saxony-Anhalt.
