State Technology Promotion – C – Patent Information Centers (PIZ)

This funding is aimed at operators of Patent Information Centers (PIZ) in Saxony who are recognized as cooperation partners of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA). The goal is to improve collaboration between science and industry and to strengthen the innovative capacity of Saxon companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The funding focuses on services offered by Patent Information Centers that provide comprehensive information and services related to industrial property rights. This includes a wide range of activities, from application procedures to combating product piracy, and aims to strengthen the innovative capacity of the Saxon economy.

Funding is provided as project funding in the form of a grant. The amount of the grant can be up to 60 percent of the eligible costs, with disbursement occurring in several tranches and dependent on the submission of disbursement requests and proof of use.

Specific conditions apply to the funding, particularly the proof of a cooperation agreement with the DPMA. Projects must comply with EU state aid law, and funds are allocated at the discretion of the authority within the limits of available budget funds.

The application must be submitted in the prescribed form to the Sächsische Aufbaubank (SAB). Approval is granted at the discretion of the authority, and the grant is disbursed in several tranches after submission of a disbursement request and verification of the proof of use.

The funding is based on the Directive of the Saxon State Ministry for Economy, Labour and Transport for the Promotion of Measures to Increase the Technological Performance of the Saxon Economy (RL Landes-Technologieförderung) and is subject to various EU state aid regulations.
