Urban Green, Noise, Radon/2023 Part A ERDF Funding

This funding program targets a wide range of stakeholders in the Free State of Saxony who wish to implement projects in the areas of urban greenery, noise reduction, and radon reduction. The goal is to strengthen green infrastructure, improve noise protection on highly trafficked roads, and reduce radon concentrations in workplaces and common rooms. Funding is limited to the geographical area of Saxony, with specific local requirements applying to certain measures.

The funding program supports a variety of measures in the areas of urban greening, noise reduction, and radon reduction, aiming to improve the quality of life and environmental protection in the Free State of Saxony. Eligible projects range from concept development to the concrete implementation of construction measures, with detailed criteria set for eligible costs and project types.

Support is provided in the form of grants, with the amount of funding varying depending on the type of measure and applicant. Funding rates range between 65 and 80 percent of eligible expenses, with specific maximum limits and minimum expenditure limits for individual projects. The program is designed for a funding period until the end of 2027.

Specific requirements must be met for application and project implementation, including land ownership, adherence to technical and professional standards, and official permits. The program is linked to EU state aid rules and excludes double funding. Special conditions apply depending on the type of measure and the classification under state aid law.

The application procedure for funding is exclusively online via the funding portal of Sächsische Aufbaubank (SAB), which also acts as the granting authority. The decision on the grant is at the discretion of the granting authority and is made within the framework of available budgetary funds. The disbursement of grants follows the reimbursement principle.

The funding is based on the funding guideline of the Saxon State Ministry for Energy, Climate Protection, Environment and Agriculture dated August 28, 2023. It is supplemented by further state and European legal provisions that form the legal framework for the granting and administration of subsidies.
