Funding for Healthcare Professions (RL Heilberufe)

The "Funding for Healthcare Professions" directive of the Free State of Saxony targets a wide range of stakeholders in the healthcare sector. The aim is to improve medical and nursing care in the Free State of Saxony.

The program promotes a variety of measures in Saxony's healthcare sector, from specialist medical training and support for midwives to coordinating associations and innovative pilot projects. Primarily, personnel and material expenses are eligible for funding, and in exceptional cases, investments.

Funding is generally provided as a non-repayable grant, the amount and scope of which vary depending on the funding area. Both flat rates and partial financing are granted, with a co-financing contribution from the beneficiary usually required in most cases.

Funding is tied to specific conditions, including the implementation of the project in the Free State of Saxony, adherence to co-financing requirements, and consideration of aid regulations. There are also detailed requirements for concepts and reports, as well as rules for recovery in case of non-fulfillment of obligations.

Applications for funding must be submitted to the Sächsische Aufbaubank – Förderbank – (SAB). Application deadlines vary depending on the funding area, with some projects requiring application before commencement, others having fixed deadlines, or allowing application after commencement.

The "RL Heilberufe" funding program is based on budgetary provisions of the Free State of Saxony and specific regulations for the application of EU state aid. The directive itself is the primary legal basis, which comprehensively regulates all funding areas and conditions.
