Who is funded

This funding program targets a wide range of actors in the Free State of Saxony who carry out projects in the areas of health, prevention, counseling, and hospice and palliative care. It includes both natural and legal persons, municipalities, non-profit organizations, and research institutions with the aim of improving the health of the population and the care structures in Saxony.

What is funded

The program supports a variety of projects in the areas of health promotion, prevention, hospice and palliative care, trauma outpatient clinics, hygiene and infection prevention, and model projects. It covers project-related personnel and material expenses and aims at the development, testing, and implementation of innovative approaches in the health and social care sectors.

Type and Scope of Funding

Funding is generally provided as a non-repayable grant, primarily as project funding through co-financing or fixed-amount financing. The funding rates are usually up to 90 percent of the eligible expenses, with a co-financing share of at least 10 percent required. For specific projects, lump sums or fixed maximum amounts are also provided.

Conditions and Requirements

The approval of funding is subject to specific legal and administrative requirements, including compliance with budgetary regulations, adherence to De Minimis rules, and the provision of own contributions. In addition, projects must meet certain professional concepts and may be tied to commitment periods.

Application Procedure

The application process involves the timely submission of applications to the Landesdirektion Sachsen by specified deadlines. Approval is discretionary and within the framework of available budgetary funds, with professional concepts and compliance with specific criteria being reviewed. After the completion of the project, a statement of use must be submitted.

The funding program is based on the "Guideline Health and Care" of the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs and Consumer Protection and is subject to the general budgetary regulations of the Free State of Saxony and relevant EU aid regulations.
