The state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern grants loans to promote investment projects for commercial enterprises and economic-related infrastructure measures. The GRW supplementary loan financing provides loans of up to 5 million Euros to support projects that meet the requirements of the Joint Task "Improvement of Regional Economic Structure" (GRW).

Who is funded?

The funding program is aimed at commercial enterprises as well as municipal and non-profit institutions in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern that are planning investments to improve the regional economic structure. The goal is to create and secure permanent jobs through investments in commercial enterprises and economic-related infrastructure.

What is funded?

Funding is provided for investment projects in commercial enterprises and economic-related infrastructure measures that meet the criteria of the Joint Task for the Improvement of Regional Economic Structure (GRW). Special emphasis is placed on energy efficiency and renewable energies.

Type and Scope of Funding

The GRW supplementary loan financing is provided as a loan with variable conditions and a maximum term of 20 years. Funding can amount to up to 75 percent of eligible expenses, with an upper limit of 5 million Euros per project.

Conditions and Prerequisites

Various conditions must be met to use the GRW supplementary loan financing, including ensuring total financing, demonstrating debt service capacity, and a self-contribution of at least 25 percent for commercial enterprises. In addition, the respective GRW funding conditions must be observed.

Application Procedure

Applications for GRW supplementary loan financing must be submitted to the State Funding Institute Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (LFI) before the start of the project. A loan agreement is concluded upon approval.

The GRW supplementary loan financing is based on specific procedural principles of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the State Budget Ordinance, and EU State Aid Regulation 651/2014.
