What is funded
Various measures in the hunting sector in Thuringia are funded, ranging from wildlife management measures and research projects to educational work and the cultivation of hunting traditions. Measures below a de minimis threshold of 1,000 euros, as well as expenses for gifts, prizes, and catering, are not funded.
Type and Extent of Funding
Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant, primarily as project funding through co-financing. The funding amount varies depending on the measure and can be up to 95 percent of the eligible expenses. Full financing is possible in exceptional cases and requires separate justification.
Conditions and Requirements
Specific conditions must be observed for the application and implementation of funding measures, including obtaining necessary permits and complying with travel expense regulations. Double funding by other public means is excluded.
Application Procedure
Applications for funding must be submitted by the end of a calendar year for the following year to the responsible Thuringian Ministry for Infrastructure and Agriculture. Approval is granted after consultation with relevant bodies, and disbursement after application and successful proof of use, which also serves for target achievement control.
Legal Basis
The funding program is based on the "Thuringian Guideline for the Promotion of Hunting from the Hunting Levy". This guideline regulates the objectives, funding items, and procedures and is based on the Thuringian Hunting Law as well as other budgetary and administrative legal provisions of the Free State of Thuringia.
