Local Youth Promotion
The Free State of Thuringia supports districts and independent cities as local public youth welfare providers in planning, providing, and promoting needs-based services for children, adolescents, and young adults. Type and Extent of Funding
Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant in the form of fixed-amount financing. The amount of the grant depends on available state funds and the child and youth population, covering up to 60 percent of eligible expenses.
Conditions and Requirements
Various prerequisites must be met to receive funding, including the integration of measures into youth welfare planning, adherence to professional recommendations, and specific cooperation obligations for school-related youth work.
Application Procedure
The application for local youth promotion must be submitted annually by December 31 of the previous year. Approval is granted by the Thuringian State Administration Office, with early commencement of measures also possible under certain conditions. The use of funds must be proven by verification.
Legal Basis
The funding program is based on the "New Version of the Guideline for Local Youth Promotion" from January 29, 2024. It is regulated by various state and federal legal provisions as well as administrative regulations that determine the implementation and administration of the grants.
