NRW.BANK.Building Renovation

The program is aimed at private individuals and private homeowners in North Rhine-Westphalia. The goal is to support investments for increasing energy efficiency, improving environmental protection, and making owner-occupied homes barrier-free, thereby sustainably increasing living quality and property value.

The funding covers a variety of measures for the modernization and renovation of owner-occupied homes, including improving energy efficiency, environmental protection, and accessibility. Certain measures such as the purchase of residential buildings or refinancing are excluded from funding.

The funding is provided in the form of a low-interest loan. Up to 100 percent of the eligible investment costs can be financed, with minimum and maximum amounts specified. The loans offer various terms and repayment options.

Specific conditions and requirements must be met for the application and implementation of the measures, including ensuring the overall financing of the project and compliance with legal regulations.

The application procedure is carried out through the applicant's house bank, which forwards the application to NRW.BANK. The application must be submitted before the start of the measure.

The program is based on the "NRW.BANK.Gebäudesanierung" factsheet and takes into account relevant legal regulations such as the Building Energy Act (GEG) and parts of the German Tax Code (AO).
