Aid for Agriculture and Forestry
The Free State of Saxony offers financial aid in the form of grants to agricultural, forestry, fishery, and aquaculture businesses. This support aims to address damages and income losses directly caused by natural disasters or comparable adverse weather conditions, enabling the restoration of affected businesses.
Who is funded
This funding is aimed at businesses in agriculture, forestry, fishery, and aquaculture in the Free State of Saxony that have suffered damages due to natural disasters or comparable adverse weather conditions. The objective is to help businesses cope with damages and secure their existence.
What is funded
The program supports measures for the elimination of direct damages to structures, paths, land, and assets, as well as the compensation for income reductions caused by natural disasters or comparable adverse weather conditions in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries.
Type and Extent of Funding
Financial support is provided as a non-repayable grant in the form of co-financing. The funding amount varies depending on the type of damage event and the affected sector but can cover up to 100 percent of the incurred costs in certain cases, taking into account insurance benefits and other compensatory payments.
Conditions and Requirements
To receive funding, applicants must meet certain legal and formal requirements, including the determination of a natural disaster event by the cabinet and confirmation of damage by the municipal administration. Furthermore, specific conditions regarding insurance and compliance with EU state aid rules must be observed.
Application Procedure
The application for funding must be submitted to Sächsische Aufbaubank – Förderbank – (SAB). The procedure requires the submission of an expert report to prove the damage and confirmation from the municipal administration.
Legal Basis
The funding is based on a guideline from the Saxon State Ministry for Energy, Climate Protection, Environment and Agriculture, which relies on the Saxon Budget Code and EU state aid rules. It is aimed at addressing damages caused by natural disasters in the agricultural, forestry, and fishery sectors.
