Measures within the State Program for Democracy, Diversity and Openness

The State Program for Democracy, Diversity and Openness targets non-profit organizations and legal entities in Saxony-Anhalt that actively work to strengthen democratic values and reduce discrimination. The goal is to foster an open society and strengthen civic engagement.

The State Program for Democracy, Diversity and Openness supports a wide range of projects and measures aimed at strengthening democratic values, reducing discrimination, and promoting openness. This includes both independent initiatives and the co-financing of projects already supported by other programs, provided they align with the objectives of the State Program.

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant in the form of co-financing, covering up to 90 percent of eligible expenses. Co-financing through own contributions or other funding programs is possible and will be considered.

Specific conditions apply to funding regarding project implementation, cooperation with external institutions, and compliance with budgetary regulations. There is no legal entitlement to funding, and dual funding is excluded.

The application for funding must be submitted in writing to the Saxony-Anhalt State Administrative Office before the project begins, observing specific deadlines depending on the project start. The application procedure requires detailed information on the project and its financing.

The State Program for Democracy, Diversity and Openness is based on a specific guideline of the State of Saxony-Anhalt and is supplemented by various budgetary and grant law provisions of the state.
