Grants for Sports Facility Construction (SportstbRL M-V)

This guideline supports a wide range of applicants in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern who are active in sports facility construction. Eligible applicants include municipal bodies, non-profit sports organizations, sports clubs, and the State Sports Association itself. The program aims to support rural development as well as elite sports.

A variety of construction measures and equipment for sports facilities are funded. This includes not only core sports facilities, but also specialized sports facilities, functional buildings, and facilities for play, sports, and exercise. The measures should comply with current norms and guidelines and contribute to the sustainable development of sports infrastructure.

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant. The amount of the grant varies depending on the applicant and the co-financing model but can amount to up to 100 percent of the eligible expenses. For certain measures, minimum expenditures are required to receive funding.

Certain legal and technical requirements must be met for grants to be awarded. These include proof of a specific sports-related need, compliance with building regulations regarding accessibility and standards for sports facility construction, and securing usage rights for the property.

The application process is two-stage and differs depending on the applicant type. In the first stage, an informal information application is submitted to the responsible ministry or the State Sports Association. After positive review, the complete application is submitted to the Landesförderinstitut Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the second stage.

The funding program is based on the "Guideline for the Granting of Subsidies for Sports Facility Construction (Sports Facility Construction Guideline – SportstbRL M-V)" and is supplemented by various European and national regulations, particularly in the context of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), as well as the State Budget Law and Sports Promotion Act.
