Grant
Last updated: 14.6.2025

The "Apprentice in a Network – Sharing Vocational Training" program by the State of Baden-Württemberg supports main companies that cannot or do not want to conduct all parts of vocational training themselves and therefore cooperate with partner companies. The goal is to increase the number of apprenticeship places. Companies can receive a grant, the amount of which depends on the duration of the training in the partner company and is adjusted under certain conditions if the main company is on short-time work.

Who is funded

The "Apprentice in a Network – Sharing Vocational Training" program is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the commercial sector and members of the liberal professions based in Baden-Württemberg who wish to support apprentices within the framework of a network apprenticeship as so-called main companies. The aim is to increase the number of apprenticeship places in the state by supporting collaborations between companies or with educational institutions.

What is funded

The program promotes additional costs incurred in the context of a network apprenticeship when parts of the training take place in a partner company. Projects covering vocational training according to the Vocational Training Act (BBiG) or the Crafts Code (HwO) are supported. The funding aims to expand the training capacities of companies and to ensure the training itself, especially for companies on short-time work.

Type and Extent of Funding

Funding is provided in the form of a premium (grant) and depends on the duration of the training in the partner company. There are two funding levels, with an increased premium for longer training periods in the partner company or a specific premium for short-time work of the main company.

Conditions and Requirements

The allocation of funding is linked to specific conditions and requirements to ensure the eligibility of applicants and the fundability of the network apprenticeship. These include regulations on application, partner constellations, and the avoidance of double funding.

Application Procedure

The application procedure for "Apprentice in a Network – Sharing Vocational Training" is clearly structured. It requires the early submission of a complete application with all required documents before the start of the training in the partner company. The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism Baden-Württemberg decides on the application.

The legal basis for the "Apprentice in a Network – Sharing Vocational Training" premium program is a specific leaflet from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism Baden-Württemberg, which is based on the State SME Promotion Act and the State Budget Code.
