Establishment, Maintenance, and Operation of Independent Psychiatric Complaints Offices (upB Funding Guideline – upB-FöR)

This funding program targets independent psychiatric complaints offices in Bavaria and aims to improve psychiatric care by providing low-threshold and anonymous points of contact for people with mental illnesses and their relatives.

The funding supports measures for the establishment, maintenance, and operation of independent psychiatric complaints offices in Bavaria. This includes both material expenditures for initial equipment and ongoing operating costs necessary to ensure counseling and mediation work.

Funding is granted as a subsidy in the form of a fixed-sum financing. Up to 10,000 euros per upB per year and an additional fixed amount of up to 2,000 euros for initial equipment can be approved.

Applicants must meet specific requirements regarding geographical location, membership in self-help organizations, and ensuring quick responses. Additionally, certain rules for the use and proof of funds must be observed.

The application procedure includes the timely submission of complete documents to the Bavarian State Office for Nursing and a subsequent review and decision on funding in agreement with the Bavarian State Ministry of Health and Care.

The funding program is based on the Guideline for the Granting of Funding for the Establishment, Maintenance, and Operation of Independent Psychiatric Complaints Offices (upB Funding Guideline – upB-FöR) and the general budgetary provisions of the Free State of Bavaria.
